Connection Dance

Connection Dance

What is Connection Dance?

Enthusiastic participants report that they sometimes feel reminded of elements of dance, movement and expression forms like Five Rhythms, Ecstatic Dance, Soul Motion or as well Biodanza.

And yet, at the same time, Connection Dance describes a quality all its own in how it connects participants more deeply: with themselves, their bodies, the other person, the group as a community.

It's a free, playful encounter on the dance floor with yourself, and with the other(s)..

Without obligation to others, constantly invited to listen to your own inner truth again and again. Even in contact with someone you can change it at any time, move on to other fellow dancers or just stay in your own inner world for the whole evening, if that is what is right for you.

You are invited to bring your own truth into expression.

Without words. But with the body and the voice, as it wants to emerge from you.

You can also play with expressing yourself in a new and different way, experimenting with new and unknown aspects of yourself.

The evening:
Light, playful.
At the same time often very touching and profound.

Laughter, and sometimes also tears.

I hold the framework by guiding you through the evening with invitations and suggestions:

Invitations to self-contact, to body awareness, to play, to be crazy, or just to go inside yourself.

The evening begins with an attunement to body awareness, followed by one or two musical arcs. An arc starts gently until it culminates in a wild climax and then becomes more gentle again, with a contemplative conclusion.

In terms of content, I let myself be guided by what is in the field at the moment.

Connection Dance is a meditation with you within the group, where what is about to emerge is allowed to emerge.

Without speaking.
In respect and consent with your peer.

We dance mostly barefoot (or some with light dance shoes), in comfortable movement-friendly clothing. Without alcohol or other drugs. Bring something to drink, usually we get a good sweat ;-).

I look forward to dancing with you!
